FireAnts name new coach
07/08/03 FireAnts Press Release
The Tupelo FireAnts professional indoor football team is pleased to announce Bobby Hall as the team’s new Head Coach. Hall, a local coaching legend amongst Northeast Mississippi residents, brings an impressive coaching background into the indoor football ranks as the FireAnts gear up for the 2004 season.
“Coach Hall is a proven winner,” FireAnts owner Monty Fletcher said. “He is known for turning teams around, and we are proud to have him in our corner with his player contacts, strong work ethic, and desire to get the job done, and done right.”
Coach Hall has a long list of accomplishments, honors, and championships to his credit. Over the years, he has been named Coach of the Year at various levels 15 times. He has coached All-Star teams on four occasions, led his teams to district, division or regional championships 18 times, made two appearances as a state runner up in the high school ranks, as well as gained four high school state championships over his career, with Louisville High School in 1991 and with Amory High School in 1994, 1995 and 1998. His overall high school record stands at 211-52 over 21 years.
“Bobby Hall is well respected by players and also by members of this community,” Fletcher continued. “He brings a powerful dynamic to the FireAnts organization. His connections at the high school and college level will prove invaluable as he builds this team.”
Coach Hall recently guided the Northeast Mississippi Community College football team over the last two years as head coach. Finishing his two-year tenure with an overall record of 10-9, Hall led the Tigers to their first North Division Junior College Championship since 1980 this past season, along with their first playoff appearance since 1987. His efforts did not go unnoticed, as he was recently named the 2002-03 Mississippi Association of Coaches Community College State Coach of the Year for his efforts with the Northeast football program.
“This is a tremendous challenge, and I am very excited,” commented Bobby Hall. “I am confident we will be able to roster 21 guys with good talent and drive to get us where we want to go.”
Hall becomes the fourth Head Coach in FireAnts Football history. The FireAnts will kick off the 2004 National Indoor Football League season next March at the BancorpSouth Center in Tupelo. For more information, contact the FireAnts at (662) 620-BITE.
