Warriors sign Sopoaga

The Utah Warriors are pleased to announce the signing of Defensive Lineman/Linebacker Lance Sopoaga.  Lance is the first player signed from the Warriors tryout camp held on New Years Eve.   He was born in American Samoa and played his high school football there.  He was awarded a scholarship to play at Snow Jr. College in Utah.  In his senior year he was selected the Conference’s most outstanding defensive player.  Lance’s size and speed impressed the Division I schools. He stands 6’1” and weighs 275 lbs.  And runs a 4.7 second 40 yard dash.

Utah State University saw the talent and offered Lance a scholarship there also.  Lance was recruited by the New Orleans Saints.  Unfortunately they needed a fullback instead of a linebacker.

On a personal note Lance and his wife are expecting twins this spring.
