Tryon, Evenson resign with Storm

01/23/03 Storm Press Release

The Sioux Falls Storm of the National Indoor Football League (NIFL) is pleased to announce the resigning of defensive back Todd Tryon and linebacker/safety Joe Evenson.

Tryon will return to the Sioux Falls Storm for his 3rd season, he also played one year with the Sioux Falls Cobras in the IFL.  Todd started all 14 games for the Storm in 2002 where he recorded 48 tackles and added 4 interceptions.  “Todd has been a mainstay and extremely important player in our years with indoor football here in Sioux Falls.  He is in the best shape of his life and we are excited to have him for another season,” said head coach Kurtiss Riggs.

Evenson played his first full season with the Storm in 2002 after an outstanding career at Augustana.  Joe, from Garretson, SD, recorded 62 tackles in 2002, seeing considerable amount of time as a safety, linebacker, and on most special teams.  “Joe is the type of player that isn’t afraid to stick his nose in anything, and he has a motor that never stops.  We will look for Joe to be an integral part of our special teams and fight for a starting position,” said head coach Kurtiss Riggs.  The Sioux Falls Storm will kick off their season on March 6 in Sioux City, IA for a preseason game against the Bandits, with the home opener slated for April 5 hosting Casper, Wyoming.  For more information, including season ticket options, please contact the front office at 605-332-4225 or visit the teams web site at www.siouxfallsstorm.com.
