In 2000 Ryan was named the NCC's Linebacker of the Year.  During the 2000 season Ryan racked up 65 tackles and 9 sacks.

Following his 2001 senior season with the Sioux   Ryan signed a free agent contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars.  Ryan spent the entire preseason with the Jaguars playing in four games and recorded a sack against the Carolina Panthers.

"Ryan obviously has all of the tools that it takes to be an impact player in this league," Head Coach Luke Shafer.  "Ryan is a winner and has done very well everywhere he's been, he's a great player and a great person and I'm looking forward to having him on our side this season," added Shafer.
