Hounds sign defensive lineman

02/17/03 Greyhounds Press Release

The 2002 NIFL Champion Ohio Valley Greyhounds have signed Curtese Poole, a three year starter at the University of Minnesota. Poole is a 6'3, 255 pound defensive lineman. As a freshman, Poole attended the University of Kansas as a quarterback. When Coach Glen Mason left Kansas and accepted the coaching job at Minnesota, Poole followed.

As a Senior, Poole recorded 74 tackles with 14 for a loss along with 2 sacks and 2 forced fumbles making him the Golden Gophers third leading tackler. As a Junior, Poole started in several games but a early season injury hampered his entire season. Poole persisted to play in 9 of 11 games with a torn ACL.

As a Sophomore, Poole started all 11 games recording 49 tackles, 6 pass breakups, 6 sacks and one forced fumble.

He spent time with the Seattle Seahawks in training camp during the 2001 season.
