Roughriders add two

02/19/03 Roughriders Press Release

The Bismarck Roughriders of the National Indoor Football League have announced the signing of two more for the 2003 season.

The first being Defensive Lineman Kevin Shearer.  The 6' 2" 250lb Shearer runs a 4.7 40 and is a great pass rusher.

"Kevin is a guy with good speed and should fit in well with what we want to do on defense," Head Coach Luke Shafer.

The Riders have also come to terms with QB Brett Thompson.  The 6' 1" 210lb Thompson spent some time with the Roughriders last season prior to moving on to the Quad City Steamwheelers of arenafootball2.  Thompson has three seasons of af2 experience including time with the Wichita Stealth and the Fresno Frenzy.

"Brett has lots of experience in the indoor game which is very valuable to us.  Brett is a hard-nosed player and is willing to do what it takes to get the job done," added Shafer.
