Bandits announce final signings for 2003 and unveil new uniforms

The Sioux City Bandits of the National Indoor Football League today announce the final player signings for 2003. These players will join the other players previously signed for Training Camp that gets under way Saturday at Southridge Golf Club and Dome in South Sioux City, NE.
Lamont Truitt (Defensive Back/Running Back, 6'0", 210 lbs) Truitt returns for his third season of indoor football in Sioux City. Last season he was second on the team with four interceptions, one that he returned 39 yards for a TD. Truitt also returned two missed field goals for touchdowns and returned a kickoff for a touchdown. Truitt was third on the team in tackles with 71. He is a graduate of Central Missouri State University where he was an All-American in track.
Trice Crump (Defensive Back, 5'11", 185 lbs) Crump returns for his second season with the Bandits. Last season Crump was fourth on the team in tackles with 69, tied for the team high in interceptions with five. Crump is a graduate of Cal State Northridge.
Phil Wilson (Defensive Back, 6'0", 205 lbs) Wilson had played indoor football in the NIFL and IFL for three seasons. The 2000 season with the Sioux City Attack, 2001 with the Bandits, and 2002 with the Sioux Falls Storm. Wilson played only one game in 2001 after suffering a season ending injury in game one. Last season with the Storm, he had a game against Billings where he had three interceptions. Wilson is a graduate on the University of South Dakota. Coach Reinhardt stated, "Phil Wilson is a good addition for the Bandits, he has the experience from playing in our league and he knows how to play defense from the safety position."
Colin Bryant (Defensive Back/Receiver, 6'6", 240 lbs) Bryant will be playing his first year of indoor football after a stellar career at Minnesota State University in Mankato, Minn. Bryant was a three-year starter at tight end for the Mavericks and graduated in 2002. Coach Reinhardt comments, "Colin came into our first camp and really impressed the coaching staff with his speed and work ethic. With his athletic ability, Colin will be a versatile player for us on both sides of the ball." Bryant is a native of Albert Lee, Minn.
Heath Keim (Offensive Line, 6'4", 305 lbs) Keim continues the Wayne State pipeline for the Bandits; he graduated from Wayne State in 2001 where he was a letterman from 1998 thru 2001. Keim has experience in indoor football, last season he started the 2002 season with the Peoria Pirates of the AF2 where he played four games. He then played the last 10 games with Bismarck Roughriders of the NIFL. Coach Reinhardt says, "Heath is a great addition to our offensive line, especially with his experience from last year in indoor football. He was impressive in the two tryouts and will compete for a starting spot in camp." Keim is a native of Wakefield, NE.
Jarrod DeGeorgia (Quarterback, 6'1", 220 lbs) DeGeorgia returns to Sioux City after a great 2002 season in which he set a number of team records; Yards passing in a game with 307, completions 26 and touchdowns passes with 5, all set against Tri-City on April 28. In 14 games last year DeGeorgia completed 198 of 349 passes for 2,405 yards with 30 touchdowns and 17 interceptions, his quarterback rating was 101.4 and per game average of 171.8 passing yards both ranked in the top ten of the NIFL. DeGeorgia also rushed for 195 yards and scored 12 touchdowns, which led the team. DeGeorgia has indoor experience with the Bandits, the Sioux City Attack, and the Iowa Barnstormers, where he was backup to Kurt Warner. Jarrod played his college football at Wayne State, where he still holds a number of passing records. Coach Reinhardt comments, "Getting Jarrod back again this season is huge, he is a leader in the huddle and in practice plus he knows this game of indoor football. We look for Jarrod to have another big year for the Bandits and lead us to a division championship." DeGeorgia is a native and resident of Lompoc, CA.
Thursday, March 6, 2003 is the pre-season game with the Sioux Falls Storm at the Sioux City Auditorium; kickoff is at 7:05 pm. Tickets are discounted for this game at $15.00, $12.00, $10.00, $8.00 and $6.00, which are discounts of 20% to 40% off regular season prices. Tickets are available thru the Auditorium Box Office, hours are 10:30 to 5:30 Monday thru Friday and 10:30 to 1:30 on Saturday.
The 2003 season will start on March 14 with a road game at LaCrosse, Wisconsin with the home opener scheduled for March 29 at 7:05 against the Rapid City Red Dogs.
