     The La Crosse Night Train of the National Indoor Football League completed its second weekend of invitation-only tryouts yesterday. Forty-seven Night Train hopefuls attended the team’s final tryouts for the 2003 season. Official training camp opens on Saturday, March 1 at 8:00 a.m. Players will report on Friday, February 28, for physicals and testing.

     A handful of players will be signed to contracts this week as the team begins its second season of play in the NIFL. Among those expected to ink contracts this week: Reginald Davis, WR (UW-Platteville), Ron Brown, LB (Valparaiso), Shane Hall, DB (Iowa), Jarobi Kemp, DB (Utah St.), Eric Williams, RB (Winona St.), and Josh Jacobs, LB (Missouri Valley St.)

     La Crosse will trim its roster from 40 to 25 by March 10. The Night Train will open the 2003 campaign on Friday, March 14, against the Sioux City Bandits. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
