Storm re-signs defensive lineman, Paul Schmitt

The Sioux Falls Storm of the National Indoor Football League is proud to announce the re-signing of defensive lineman Paul Schmitt.

Schmitt, 6’3’’, 285 lbs, joined the Storm during the second half of the season last year. Schmitt recorded 19 tackles, including 8 tackles-for-loss and 3 quarterback sacks in 4 games for the Storm last season. Before joining the Storm in 2002, Schmitt played at the University of Wisconsin – Steven’s Point where he earned Division III second team All-American honors his senior season and was named first team All-WIAC (Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) and was the WIAC Defensive Player of the Year.  “Signing Paul to another year was a big priority for us this year.  He’s a big, aggressive kid who will dominate the line of scrimmage,” says head coach Kurtiss Riggs.

The Storm will head to Sioux City, Iowa on Thursday, March 6 for a preseason game against the Bandits. The Storm’s home opener is April 5, when they will face Casper Wyoming.
