03/11/03 Roughriders Press Release

The Bismarck Roughriders of the National Indoor Football League have added two kickers to their current roster.

The first being Neil Collier. The 5' 10" 200lb Collier played his college football at Bemidji State Univeristy.  Collier was the Beavers' kicker and punter from 1999 through 2002.  During that time Collier was named the the Northern Sun Conference Special Teams Player of the Week, Outstanding Senior and set the Bemidji State school record for most PAT's and is the school's career leader in scoring by kickers.

The 'Riders have also come to terms with Jeremy Meltebarger.  The 6' 2" 200lb Meltebarger played his college football at Huron University.  In his two seasons with the Screaming Eagles Jeremy was the special teams MVP both seasons and also set four school kicking records.

"Both guys had excellent college careers, it will be a good competition between the two. Kicking is important in this league and its nice being able to choose from two very capable players," Head Coach Luke Shafer.

The Roughriders open their season this Saturday in Billings, Montana against the Outlaws.  The 'Riders will be having practice in the Fore Seasons Golf Center on Thursday at 9:30 PM.  The practice is open to the public.
