15 players from last season returning to team

     TUPELO, MS-The Tupelo FireAnts professional indoor football team is pleased to announce their first player signings of the 2002 season.
     After two open tryouts and a rigorous training camp, the FireAnts have seen the likes of 70 players hoping to gain a spot on the Tupelo 25-man roster.  Out of those who participated in tryouts and training camp, 20 players involved in last year's team or practice squad made another attempt to join the FireAnts for another season of indoor football action.
     After careful evaluation by Head Coach John Gore and Defensive Coordinator Chuck Domino, the FireAnts are pleased to announce the first signings, which include 15 players involved in the inaugural campaign.  These players include:

     "We have an outstanding group of young men," Head Coach John Gore said. "They are all good football players and will give the 2002 FireAnts a solid and firm foundation as we continue our preparations for our first game on the road in Biloxi."
     The FireAnts anticipate on signing the remaining 10 players to the final roster mid-to-late next week.  Meanwhile, the 'Ants continue practice at the Ballard Park Sportsplex in Tupelo.
