Diesel derails Night Train 49-18

Behind seven Diesel interceptions and five Dale Van Housen touchdowns, the Tri-City Diesel dominated the scoreboard in the first game of the season 49-18.
The La Crosse Night Train was held scoreless for two quarters of the game. Three of the Diesel picks belonged to Jeremy Jensen, one of which was returned 30 yards for a second-quarter touchdown.
The Diesel rolled to 16 points in two of the quarters and punctuated the effort with 14 in the final stanza. The Diesel out rushed the Night Train 130 to 23, but settled for a 50 yard disadvantage in the passing game, ending with a total-yard edge of 57 in the contest.
After a bye in the season’s second week, the Diesel plays next at Omaha on Friday, March 29, a 7:30 game.
