Horsemen ticket holders will be able to watch both potential UK game and Horsemen opener in unprecedented double header

Sports fans in Kentucky will now have the opportunity to experience a doubleheader like no other on March 29.  The Lexington Horsemen and Rupp Arena announced today that, should the University of Kentucky men’s basketball team reach the Midwest regional finals in the NCAA tournament, Horsemen fans will be able to watch a “Double Rumble” -- both the UK game and the Horsemen home opener -- in Rupp Arena.  It will be the first time that such a doubleheader has ever been shown in Rupp.

The Horsemen have worked out an agreement with Rupp Arena to show the potential March 29 UK game on Rupp’s video screens. Fans with Horsemen tickets will be able to sit in their seats in and watch all of the live action in Rupp Arena.  Full arena concessions will be available during both games.  

Depending on the time of the UK game, the Horsemen will play their first-ever game either immediately before or immediately after the Wildcats play. Should Kentucky play the first regional final on Saturday (scheduled for 4:30 PM EST), then the Horsemen will kick off approximately one hour after the conclusion of the basketball game. Should Kentucky play the second regional final on Saturday, (scheduled for approximately 6:45 PM EST), then the Horsemen will kick off at 3:30 PM, and fans are welcome to stay in their seats and watch the UK game upon the conclusion of the Horsemen game. On- and off-field entertainment will be provided for fans between the games.

The Horsemen will release their schedule of events for March 29 on Monday, March 24, when the tip-off time for the potential Kentucky game becomes known.

The Horsemen also announced that they are now making upper-arena seats available for the March 29 Double Rumble.  Upper arena tickets will be priced at $12 and $8.  There are a very limited amount of lower-arena seats still available as well.
