Warriors first road game against Outlaws

03/30/03 Warriors Press Release

The Utah Warriors have once again beaten their rivals the Billings Outlaws with a final score of 50 to 40. Similar to last week’s game in the E-Center both teams found themselves in a dogfight right down to the end.  The Warriors on the road tonight with a big win in Montana. Utah is now 2-0 in their first season of play. The Warriors are the new expansion team of the National Indoor Football League and are proving to be powerful both home and away.

The Warriors were plagued in this game with penalties, but were able to sustain their drives for the win against Billings. “This was a battle between us and penalties. This would have been a completely different game if we could have controlled our mistakes” said head coach Lee Leslie. “A lot of our problems tonight was our own mistakes. We have to keep our head’s in the game and pay attention to what we are doing.”

National Indoor Football League MVP Danny Ragsdale had a great night. With outstanding coverage by the Outlaws defense, Danny had to do a lot of scrambling.  In the end though, his talents and abilities came through as he lead the team to an impressive road game win.

Another key to this win was the huge effort by local player Jeff Main of Tooele.  He is a three-year veteran of the league and his experience came through tonight.  Main is a versatile player who can be used by the Warriors at two or three different positions.  With key tackles and blocks coming at crucial times Main’s defensive presence was defiantly felt by the Billings offense.

The Warriors return home next Saturday, April 5th, against the Bayou Bucks of Houma LA. Watch for great deals to get in and see your Utah Warriors dominate once again.
