Storm signs runningback Eddie Torrico

04/17/03 Storm Press Release

The Sioux Falls Storm of the National Indoor Football League (NIFL) is proud to announce the signing of running back Eddie Torrico.

Torrico, 6’1, 215 lb., played for the Bismarck Roughriders for the first 3 games in 2003 before joining the Storm.  Eddie began his college years at the University of Massachusetts before finishing at the University of Rhode Island. In 1998 as a freshman at University of Massachusetts, Torrico was named Rookie of the Year for his region.  Before signing with the Roughriders, Torrico played for the North Attleboro Renegades, a semi-professional football team, where he was the starting tailback for two years. Torrico earned the New England Football League (NEFL) Offensive MVP in 2002 and played in the 2002 All-Star game.  “Eddie is going to be a great addition to our offensive.  He has great size, speed and hands that makes him a big threat when he’s on the field”, says head coach Kurtiss Riggs.

The Sioux Falls Storm (3-1) will travel to Bismarck, North Dakota on Saturday, April 19 to take on the Roughriders. The Storm will be on the road the next three weekends and will return home on Saturday, May 10 when archrival Sioux City comes to town for the I-29 battle. May 10 is also “Ladies Night” at the Sioux Falls Arena. The first 1,000 women will receive a Storm visor. For more information, or season ticket options for the year, please contact the Storm front office at 332-4225 or visit the team’s website at www.siouxfallsstom.com.
