Storm signs Linebacker End Josh Jacobs

The Sioux Falls Storm of the National Indoor Football League (NIFL) is proud to announce the signing of linebacker/defensive lineman Josh Jacobs.

Jacobs is a 6’0’’, 245 lb. lineman who played two years at Fresno State University before transferring to Missouri Valley College to finish his college career.  He was named Most Valuable Defensive Lineman in 1999, and also earned All-Conference and numerous NAIA Player of the Week honors.  After his college career, Jacobs spent time with the Miami Tropics of the Spring Football League (SFL).  He was also in camps with teams in the XFL and CFL, including an impressive tryout with the Saskatchewan Roughriders, where he ran the 40 in 4.6 seconds; had a 33-inch vertical; and benched 225 lbs. 31 times.

The Storm is coming off a tough 55-44 defeat at the hands of the Bismarck Roughriders last weekend. Currently, the Storm is 3-2 for the season. The Storm will Travel to Salt Lake City this weekend and then to Fort Wayne on May 3. They will return home on Saturday May 10 when archrival Sioux City comes to town for the I-29 battle. May 10 is also “Ladies Night” at the arena where the first 1,000 women will receive a Storm visor.
