The Sioux Falls Storm of the National Indoor Football League (NIFL) is pleased to announce the signing of former Augustana College, All-American Josh Kayser, former University of Sioux Falls (USF) standout Darin Martyna, and Concordia College in Moorhead Minnesota, Joel Ferrie.
Josh Kayser is a 6’4’’, 310 lb offensive lineman and a four-year player who starter for Augustana College. In 2002 he was the Daktronics 2nd team All-American and was the Midwest Region 1st team All-American as well. Kayser was the 1st team All-North Central Conference (NCC) in 2002 and played in the Cactus Bowl at the Division II All-Star game. He was in the NFL combine and was the Sporting News “Sleeper Pick” in the 2003 NFL Draft.
Darin Martyna is a 6’3’’, 265 lb defensive end and former University of Sioux Falls player. He is a two-time All-American player and is the all-time sack leader at USF. He was a co-captain in 2002 and he also led the team in tackles with 15 sacks in 2002.
Joel Ferrie is a 5’8’’, 190 lb running back who played two years at South Dakota State University before transferring to Concordia College in Moorhead Minnesota to finish up his college career where he made All-Conference.
The Storm will finally return home on Saturday, May 10, 2003 when archrival Sioux City comes to town for the I-29 battle. May 10th is also “Ladies Night” at the arena where the first 1,000 women will receive a Storm visor.
