'Ants Win When it Counts

Sometimes, you just need to win the big ones.  And this past weekend, the Tupelo FireAnts did just that by defeating the Louisiana Rangers 41-26 at the BancorpSouth Center.

With Saturday's win, the 'Ants pull a bit closer to gaining the edge in the Atlantic East division.  The 'Ants need to win the division in order to make it into the playoffs.

Now, all three teams in the Atlantic East are tied with a record of 1-1 in the division.  Louisiana, Tupelo, and Mississippi are fighting for the lead.  The 'Ants have two more division games remaining, this week as Biloxi comes to town, and June 29th in Alexandria.

If the 'Ants can win the division, they will gain their first ever playoff birth in the National Indoor Football League.  Time will tell if the FireAnts will continue to win the big games, playoff dreams count on it.

Up Next...The Fire Dogs!

In state rivals, the Mississippi Fire Dogs from Biloxi will take on the Tupelo FireAnts this weekend at the BancorpSouth Center starting at 7:00pm.  Biloxi is currently 2-8 on the season, 1-1 in the division.  The Fire Dogs have lost their last six contests.  Don't miss out as these two Mississippi teams battle in the Hill.  The first 500 kids through the door will receive a free FireAnts Frisbee, courtesy of KZ105---Today's Best Music.  For more information, call the FireAnts at 620-BITE.
