NIFL names Players of the Week
06/19/02 NIFL Press Release Lafayette La… Week 15 Players of the Week have been selected. From the Pacific Conference the Offensive Player of the Week goes to Lincoln Capitols player Josh Luedtke. Luedtke completed 21 of 30 attempts for a total of 213 yards with 6 touchdowns on the night. Defensive Player of the Week is Sioux Falls Storm’s player Bobby Perkins. Perkins had 5 tackles, 2 interceptions, and 2 pass break-ups for the night. Special Teams Player of the Week goes to the Lincoln Capitols player Chace Long. Long kicked 3 for 3 field goals with the longest of 50 yards.
The Atlantic Conference Offensive Player of the Week goes to Oscar Davenport, of the Winston Salem Energy. Davenport completed 13 of 30 attempts for a total of 222 yards with 5 touchdowns. He also passed 3 for 10 with 2 touchdowns. The Lake Charles LandSharks claims Defensive Player of the Week with the efforts of Darnell Lee. Lee had 5 solo tackles, 4 interceptions with a 40 yard touchdown on the evening. Special Teams Player of the Week goes to the Firedogs player James Mathews. Mathews returned 5 kicks for 131 yards and 1 touchdown.
