Beef prepare for playoffs

The first round of the National Indoor Football Playoffs convene at the Civic Auditorium at 7:05 p.m. on Saturday night. The Omaha Beef (11-3) will be trying to avenge their only home loss of the year when they host the Bismarck, ND Roughriders (9-5). The Roughriders defeated the Beef 39-38 back on April 5, but since that loss the Beef have won 10 of 12 games.
The Omaha Beef earned the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference playoffs by having the best record in the regular season and will host a playoff game on Saturday, July 19, if they can get past the Roughriders. Bismarck is the No. 4 seed and is coming off a loss this weekend to Sioux Falls, SD, which ended up as the No. 3 seed in the Pacific Conference and will be traveling to Utah which wrapped up the No. 2 seed with a weekend win over Beaumont, TX.
The Omaha vs. Bismarck winner will take on the Sioux Falls vs. Utah winner in the Pacific Conference finals. The four teams in the Atlantic Division Playoffs are No. 1 seed Ohio Valley vs. No. 4 seed Lexington, KY and No. 2 seed Lake Charles, LA vs. No. 3 seed Houma, LA. The winner of the Pacific Conference will take on the winner of the Atlantic Conference in the NIFL Championship game on August 2.
