Night Train continues to give back to community

07/16/03 Night Train Press Release

The La Crosse Night Train of the National Indoor Football League not only improved on the field during the 2003 season, they also improved their standing in the La Crosse community as well. Night Train players and coaches appeared at 67 different community events throughout the season. The players were most frequently found at La Crosse WAFER services, serving food or helping grow food for people in need.

The Night Train visited 17 area schools in 2003 and served as guest speakers, tutors and also assisted in any other way they could. Local day cares and the Family Resource Center were also frequented by the organization during their various activities. Seven local charities were also a part of each Night Train home game during the 2003 season. Each game was dedicated to one local charity and proceeds from raffles, kids’ events, and Dasherboard Bingo card sales went directly to the local charity.

In two seasons in La Crosse, the Night Train has appeared at over 110 public appearances. Nearly $6,000 was raised by various charities thanks to the efforts of the team in 2003.
