WHEELING, WV – Wheeling Mayor, Nick Sparachane announces today that the week of July 29 through August 3 is officially “Ohio Valley Greyhounds Week” in the City of Wheeling in honor of the Greyhounds’ Atlantic Conference Championship in the National Indoor Football League. The Greyhounds will host the NIFL’s championship game at the Wheeling Civic Center on Saturday, August 3rd at 8:05 pm at the Wheeling Civic Center against the Billings Outlaws.

“We think it is tremendous that one of our professional sports teams is playing for a national championship and we are prepared as a city to fully support them and also celebrate the victory,” stated Wheeling Mayor Nick Sparachane.

The City will be sponsoring a pep rally for the Ohio Valley Greyhounds prior to Saturday’s NIFL championship game at the Civic Center. The pep rally will begin at 5:00 pm on Saturday in the park area between the Wheeling Civic Center and the Heritage Port Amphitheater.

Tickets for the NIFL Championship game are now on sale at the Wheeling Civic Center Box Office. Fans are urged to purchase tickets in advance. For ticket information call 304-233-4470.
