Off-Season Wins for The Omaha Beef
10/04/02 Beef Press Release
From the playing field to the half-time show, The Omaha Beef receive top honors from the Pacific Conference of the NIFL, the National Indoor Football League.
General managers from the conference voted the Best Attendance award to the Beef.
No other Pacific Conference team pulled in fans the way the Beef did, averaging more than 5,000 fans for every game. The Beef’s new management team plans to build on the success and recruit even more new fans next season
What’s the big draw for Beef fans? The Pacific Conference says the Beef’s Prime dancers are the “Best Dance Team” in the league and one of the reasons fans keep coming back. Dance team coach, Sarah Keating, says the honor “is a nice payoff for the long hours of practice and a great incentive to give the fans a performance that takes our creativity to a new level next season”.
The NIFL also recognized a number of Omaha Beef players as standouts in the Pacific Conference. All-Star honors go to running back Clinton Childs and defensive end Dwayne Harris. Childs ended the season with 753 yards rushing and 23 touchdowns. Harris is also named the Pacific Conference defensive MVP. He’s been a major force for the Beef with 43 tackles and 19 sacks.
The Beef’s new management team is taking shape under the direction of Omaha’s Jay B. Noddle, chairman of the Pacific Realty Group. Noddle says Beef games could soon be the hottest ticket in town and promises more details soon
