Myrtle Beach now in the game of Indoor Football!

Myrtle Beach, SC: The National Indoor Football League has a new team on the schedule, Palmetto Entertainment Group, LLC announced today the arrival of the new Myrtle Beach Indoor Football team to begin play at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center in spring of 2003. The new team will be a part of the NIFL Atlantic East Division and will play a 14 game schedule, 7 home and 7 away running from March until July, 2003. Two of the teams in their division include this years National Champions, the Ohio Valley Greyhounds from Wheeling, WV, and the Tennessee Riverhawks, from Knoxville, TN. Two tough teams to give the MBIF fans games they will remember.

Palmetto Entertainment Group also announced today the MBIF "Name the team contest!" Fans can log on to www.mbfootball.com and submit their choice of names for the new team. The team name will be chosen from the submissions and announced on Monday, October 21st.

Myrtle Beach, SC: The National Indoor Football League has a new team on the schedule, Palmetto Entertainment Group, LLC announced today the arrival of the new Myrtle Beach Indoor Football team to begin play at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center in spring of 2003. Following this announcement, the first of player signings was released.

Get ready all Division one football fans for two star athletes that will surely light up the Myrtle Beach field!

Oscar Davenport, former UNC Quarterback, and Peach Bowl MVP, has been signed to the MBIF camp roster and is an exciting addition to the new team. Oscar is a big and mobile guy with excellent overall athletic ability and NFL size. He has the ability to create plays with his feet, and he has a strong arm and better accuracy than many people think.

John Lewis, former Wake Forest Running Back, has been signed as the first RB to the new roster. John is an incredibly versatile player, and an outstanding leader on the field. John was awarded the prestigious Brian Piccolo award in 1996. John graduated from Wake in 1997 with a BA in Sociology.
