New alignment and teams for 2003

The NIFL is proud to announce the addition of the following teams for it's 3rd season of play. In the Atlantic Conference, the Fort Wayne Freedom, Evansville Bluecats,  Lexington Horsemen,  and the Myrtle Beach Stingrays. Joining the Pacific Conference are the Utah Warriors.

With 24 teams entering the 03 season, making 2 two equal divisions in both conferences of 6 teams each. This will make for stronger divisional play.

The Atlantic Conference divisions have been tabbed the East and South. The Atlantic East includes Ohio Valley, Fort Wayne, Evansville, Lexington, Tennessee, and Myrtle Beach. The South includes Lake Charles, Houma, Beaumont, Tupelo, Oklahoma and Austin.

The Pacific Conference includes the  West and North. In the West, Rapid City, Sioux Falls, Bismarck, Billings, Wyoming, and Utah. The North is made up of LaCrosse, Tri-City, Omaha, Sioux City, Lincoln, and Show Me (St Louis).

Taking on new names for 2003 are the Tennessee RiverHawks, formerly the ThunderCats, the Show Me Believers, formerly the River Cities Renegades. The Austin Knights will also take on a new name.

On the move, the Louisiana Rangers have moved to Beaumont, Texas and will also be looking for a new name.
