Cavalry hands ball back to Fuentes

CST - The Wyoming Cavalry is in the toughest division in the National Indoor Football League. With the team's playoff prospects in jeopardy after two straight losses to divisional opponents, the Cavalry front office looked to the past to arrest that slide.

Wyoming's managing partner Brian Fleisher announced on Monday the signing of former Cavalry quarterback Richard Fuentes. Fuentes led Casper to a playoff berth in the Indoor Football League last season. He threw for 2,168 yards and 32 touchdowns, while completing 58.2 percent of his passes.

The Cavalry, with Jeremy Clements at quarterback, won their first three games. But they have since dropped two straight to Central Division foes Sioux Falls, S.D., and Sioux City, Iowa.

Fuentes was scheduled to arrive in Casper Monday night, and is already pencilled in as the starter for Friday's game with Yakima, Wash. Full story>>
