Frank Krevetski Head Coach

Coach Frank Krevetski is a graduate of California University of Pennsylvania. He is entering his 33rd year as a head coach. He has coached at United, Bishop McCort and Somerset where he is presently the head coach. His teams have won over 200 games under his leadership.

Coach Krevetski is married to the former Patricia Zborovancik of Windber. She is employed as a school nurse by the Ligonier Valley School District. They reside in Armagh, Indiana County. They have five children: Frank is a US Navy FA-18 Hornet Fighter Pilot instructor. He is married to the former Susan Tomaszewski of Windber and has two children Nicole and Jake. Brian is a specialist for the Montgomery County Schools Maryland. Gregg is employed by Eastern Elevator of Windber and is married to Danielle Detwiler. Megan, Andrew and Michael are their children. Laura is a Lieutenant US Navy Nurse. She is married to Matthew Bennet. They reside in Newport News, VA with their two children, Marisa and Gabriel. Maria is a secondary math teacher in the Susquanita School District.

 

G. Thom Locher Director of Player Personnel Special Teams Coach

Thom graduated from East Conemaugh High School in 1961.
From there he went on to receive his Bachelor’s degree in Education from Clarion University in 1965. 
In 1971 Thom acquired his M.S.L.S. from Clarion.  In 1987 he received his Secondary Principals Certification from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.  Thom has thirty-three years of experience in education as a teacher, coach, librarian, athletic director on the local and state level, high school vice principal, and high school principal. Thom recently retired as the high school principal of Forest Hills High School.

Thom brings a wealth of athletic administrative experience and the ability to work as a recruiter and liaison between players, coaches, and office personnel.

 

Chris Matava Offensive Coordinator

Chris is a 1980 graduate of United High School. He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown with a degree in elementary education. He also played baseball at UPJ for 4 years.

Chris has been a 6th grade teacher at United Elementary for the past 15 years. He has been the head coach of the United High School Lions for the past 3 years. Previous to that he had been on the United coaching staff for 14 years. He also coached at Laurel Valley for 3 years. For the past 17 years Chris has been coaching track at United High School.

His interest are fishing, golf and football and spending time with his family.
Chris resides in Armagh with his wife Georgianne and son Brock age 7.

 

Brian Basile Defensive Coordinator

Brian is back for his second season, as defensive coordinator, with the team. Last years Jackals' defensive backs were ranked 2nd in the IFL League of 21 teams and 6th in overall team defense.

Brian played for an undefeated Forest Hills High School, which lead the state in points allowed, yielding only 14 total points. After high school, he continued playing at Indiana University of Pennsylvania where he earned 2 letters as a defensive back. Brian has coached high school football at Central Cambria High School, Ebensburg, PA, and Johnstown High in Johnstown, PA.

For 19 years the Appalachia Intermediate Unit 08 has employed Brian in Special Education. In 1995 his class was presented with the Educational Program of the Year Award by J.D.C.A.P. for the state of Pennsylvania. This year Brian moved out of the classroom, accepting the position of Transition Coordinator for Cambria County.

Over the past 16 years Brian has supported local youth sports teams by sponsoring teams in the Johnstown Boys Baseball League, along with various other volleyball and basketball teams. Through his family business Brian has established the Pizza Deli Six Pack Charity Golf Tournament. Now in its 8th year this annual tournament has raised thousands of dollars for local Johnstown charities. Brian has served on the board of Directors for A.R.C. and as the Special Olympic Training School Director for coaches and athletes. He is also a member of the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. Brian enjoys running and has completed a 26.2 marathon.

Wayne Waugh Equipment Manager

Wayne starts his second year as equipment manager for the Johnstown team. He was the defensive coordinator, special teams coach for Bertie County, North Carolina for their Junior High, Junior Varsity, and an assistant for the Varsity. His two junior high teams captured the county championship during the 1989 and 1990 seasons. During the 1990 season, the team gave up 6 points the entire season while finishing undefeated.

Wayne graduated from United High School in 1980. He also graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1988 with a B.S. in Elementary Education. Wayne moved to Bertie North Carolina where he taught middle school math and science. While living in N.C., he attended East Carolina University where he earned his M.A. in Educational Administration.

Wayne has been involved in school administration for 8 years. He is presently the Assistant Principal at Ligonier Valley High School.

He is married to Jaleen and they have two children; Morgan 10 and Patrick age 6
