Tri-City Diesel outlasts Outlaws, 50-43

KEARNEY -- Tri-City Diesel kicker Jeremy Jensen, returning to the site of a missed extra point that cost his team a win more than a month ago, exorcised some personal demons and came up with two key plays in the last minute to give the Diesel a 50-43 win over the Billings Outlaws Friday.

Jensen booted a 32-yard field goal with 20 seconds to play and forced a fumble that was run in for a touchdown on the ensuing kickoff to seal the victory. If Jensen had had his druthers, though, he may have never been on the field in the first place.

"Before I went out on the field, I was kind of thinking 'Please offense, put the ball in the end zone' so I wouldn't have to get into that situation," Jensen said. "When I got out there, I just tried to zone everything out and keep the miss against Sioux Falls out of my mind, which had really been messing with my head for the past couple of weeks." KEARNEY — With a week of rest and recuperation under its belt, the Tri-City Diesel of the National Indoor Football League is ready to get back to work.

"We ready to get back into action," Diesel coach Leland Skeen said after the bye week. "After a week of practice the tension kind of grows on a team and I think they are ready to play a game."

Following a three-game road trip, the Diesel welcome the Billings Outlaws to the Tri-City Arena Friday in hopes of picking up the first Central Division win of the season. Full story>>
