Former owner hopes Seagulls stay in Mobile

The Mobile Seagulls of the National Indoor Football League have been sold to a Birmingham businessman, the team's former owner said Tuesday night.
Phyllis Childers said that she informed the players and coaches the team had been sold before a two-hour practice at Sage Park Tuesday night.
Childers, who said she has lost nearly $500,000 over the last two years as owner of the Seagulls, told the Register she no longer was able to operate the team but hoped the team remained in Mobile Full story>>
Seagulls bounce back by knocking off LandSharks

Redemption was what the Mobile Seagulls were looking for Saturday night against the Lake Charles LandSharks - and they got it.
The Seagulls, coming off a 76-13 spanking by the Ohio Valley Greyhounds last week, intercepted four passes and blocked two field goals in a 35-17 National Indoor Football League victory over the previously undefeated LandSharks.
Playing before 1,200 fans at the Mitchell Center, Seagulls quarterback and coach John Fourcade threw two touchdown passes and rushed for another score. Full story>>
Seagulls have sights set on Southern Division title

The Mobile Seagulls are trying to forget about their 76-13 thrashing by the Ohio Greyhounds and focus on Saturday night's home game against the Lake Charles LandSharks for first-place in the National Indoor Football League's Southern Division.
"When you get beat that bad, it's just not your night," Seagulls coach and quarterback John Fourcade said about the road lost to the Greyhounds. "The score of the game tells you all you need to know. We didn't play well in any phase of the game." Full story>>
