ABOUT THE AREA |
It's the Gateway to the West! The City under the Arch...And home to more than 2.6 million people in the region known as greater St. Louis. It's the 19th largest metropolitan area in the United States, covering over 6 thousand square miles and with bridges over the Mississippi and Missouri rivers, connecting 16 counties in Missouri and Illinois. Fortune 1000 companies in St. Louis include Anheuser-Busch, May Department Stores and Monsanto. St. Louis is currently ranked seventh in the U.S. as a headquarters location for Fortune 500 companies.
And it's a great place to play! There's Cardinals baseball, the hockey Blues, and the St. Louis Rams ...for nightlife, riverboat casinos, shops, restaurants, and revitalized Laclede’s Landing offer exciting entertainment after dark.
Outdoor activity comes alive at St. Louis' Forest park, especially on weekends, with rollerblading, picnics, softball or a stroll through the world famous Art Museum or the always free-to-the-public St. Louis Zoo.
Just 15 minutes from downtown is the second fastest growing city in the state of Missouri...historic St. Charles, the state's First Capitol. It's big-city atmosphere mixed with small town charm and values draws over a million visitors per year to the area that proudly hails itself as the starting point of the historic Lewis and Clark expedition in 1804. Featuring quaint shops, casual-style restaurants, unique museums, regional wineries and yearly festivals, St. Charles is also focal point of the ever popular Katy Trail, a bike riding path that begins at the riverfront Frontier Park and winds and stretches across Missouri's "Wine Road".
Pioneer history is prominent in St. Charles and it's surrounding county. The final home of American pioneer Daniel Boone was built in nearby Defiance and it was he who started the famous Boone's Lick Trail. St. Charles County is one of the more rapidly developing counties in the state of Missouri, with new homes, businesses and schools being built at a record rate.
Connected to St. Louis County by the Blanchette Bridge overlooking the Missouri River, the city of St. Charles is alive with character. It's the city the River City Rage proudly call 'Home".

ABOUT THE HEAD COACH |
"We have only one goal in mind and that's to win a championship...anything less this year will be a disappointment!"
That quote from second year Head Coach and General Manager Mike Wyatt of the River City Rage is an example of the kind of winning attitude that has been the driving force behind his entire coaching career. In just his first season as head coach of the former Show Me Believers in 2004, Wyatt geared his team into a high powered offensive unit and stoked up the defense to make true believers out of indoor football fans in the Gateway City. The team finished with a franchise high 9 wins and made the first round of the NIFL playoffs. His reward for that success was being named the Atlantic Division Coach of the Year.
Long known as a coach more than willing to "put the ball in the air", Coach Wyatt's teams have consistently ranked at or near the top in almost every offensive category, and with those high-powered passing attacks comes success at every level for this native of Oklahoma. Before taking the job with the NIFL, Coach Wyatt's Rheinmain Razorbacks were a highly successful team in the German Football League, reaching the league semi-finals in 2003, while establishing new European records for both passing and total offense.
Prior to that, Wyatt's Stockholm Nordic Vikings won back-to-back Football League of Europe championships in 1994 and 1995. Added to that impressive coaching resume is an Italian National championship!
With the return of quarterback Justin Peery and record setting wide receiver Scott Pingel and several other high-octane offensive players, Coach Wyatt has reason to be excited about the River City Rage in 2005. A plaque over his desk at the Rage office in St. Charles reminds him daily of the words of the great Vince Lombardi...."Winning is the only thing'.... it’s that attitude keeping Coach Mike Wyatt focused on reaching another milestone this year with his River City Rage. With an overall career record of 197-68-2 as a head coach, victory number 200 is in his sights, and soon.... by, let's say, the third game of the year!!
